about the chef
aja marsh is known for her inventive, approachable, and healthy cuisine that has created fans across the country.  paired with her commitment to client satisfaction as a personal chef and caterer, she works closely with each client to create nurturing and customized menus. this attention to detail has earned her the opportunity to cook for several high-profile clients, including marc jacobs, jerry seinfeld, natalie portman, and target inc. executives.

a texas native, aja has spent the past few years working primarily out of new york city, where she trained at the natural gourmet institute, and has subsequently worked with several catering companies and restaurants.

aja’s cooking philosophy is simple: recipes are merely guidelines-- let loose, have fun, and put love in everything you make!

a very special thanksgiving
saturday, november 10 - 4:00pm to 7:00pm - $65
• a departure from the traditional, this class will throw customary thanksgiving and other seasonal ingredients into new light to take you out of the ‘same-old, same-old’ holiday rut, while keeping with the ideals of  healthy and seasonal fare.
• featured recipes include: butternut squash and peanut bisque, mixed green salad with citrus, balsamic  roasted brussels with hazelnuts, pomegranate glazed turkey breast, polenta with wild mushrooms, root
vegetable mash, sweet potatoes and kale, apple-cranberry pie, blood orange spritzer

the very basics: getting comfortable in the kitchen
friday, november 16  - 7:00pm to 10:00pm - $45
• what’s the difference between sautee and simmer? bake and broil? soft peak and stiff peak?
• learn how to sautee, braise, bake, roast, broil, and clear up other kitchen confusions.
• tips on common equipment, recommended basic pantry staples to keep around, and kitchen safety tips
partial participation class. light meal and refreshments will be served.  class limited to 10 students.



knife skills, and nothing but knife skills
thursday, november 29 - 7:00pm to 9:00pm - $35
• a sharp quality knife is your best tool in the kitchen-- and being able to use it effectively and effeciently will save you time and add some polish to everything you slice!
• this is the perfect opportunity to gain confidence with a chef’s knife and hone your skills while you learn professional techniques for mincing, chopping, slicing, and dicing.
• also include discussion on different types of knives and materials, knife safety, and a sharpening demo.

the winter holidays: foods to celebrate with
saturday, december 8 - 4:00pm to 7:00pm - $65
• make this holiday season even more special with new recipes to brighten your traditions.

sweet treats: the new classics
sunday, december 16 - 3:00pm to 7:00pm - $55
• let’s turn on the oven and bake up some tasty desserts! with recipes to satisfy a range of dietary needs -- from low-sugar, to low-fat, to vegan, this class will cover a little bit of everything and give you some ideas to jazz up the finale of your holiday feasts!

do you have to drive a Prius and only buy organic to be ‘green’? no!
learn how you can easily implement environmentally concious actions and products into your everyday life by making small changes to the things you already do! ‘going green’ is something everyone can do and does not require any extra time or energy, and in many cases can save you money! several eco-friendly products will be on display for you to sample.
