I believe in using the highest quality and freshest ingredients available, including as many organic products as possible. With a focus on slow food and sustainable products, I support local agriculture and businesses, and plan seasonal menus. I value the client's individual needs and tastes, and incorporate those with my own food philosophies in my approach. While working primarily in the New York City area, I am available for commissions throughout the country and beyond.
- organic and pasture-raised eggs and hormone-free dairy products
- naturally or pasture-raised meat and poultry (where available)
- seasonal, wild-caught seafood
- GMO-free products
- no processed white sugar or bleached white flour
- no trans fats, high fructose corn syrup, or artificial sweeteners
By planning customized menus with an emphasis on whole grains and natural ingredients, and an absence of processed and chemical-ridden foods, I can help you to eat healthier and happier. Working within your dietary concerns, I will create nutritious, comforting, and delicious food day after day. Whether I come in to your home once a day, once a week, or just every once in awhile, I will work with you on your schedule making meals that are ready to eat when you get home from work, preparing foods to take for lunch or to keep in the freezer, or simply to boost the meals you already serve, helping make your life a little easier. My experience working with clients following various specific diets including vegan, gluten- and wheat-free, anti-candida, macrobiotic, colitis and IBS, and others. Click here for sample menus.
From cooking a special dinner for a few guests, to a themed cocktail party for 40, I specialize in the smaller parties that many catering companies cannot accommodate. I have also catered corporate and theatrical events, gallery openings, and casual family-style dinners. Click here for sample menus.
I offer private in-home cooking instruction for adults and children as well as group cooking classes and parties. My philosophy: cooking is about intuition - recipes are rules meant to be broken. The kitchen is a place where you can be creative and have fun-- there's no reason to be intimidated. Just enjoy yourself! Read more about my cooking classes here.
Healthy Food Coaching
Whether you are striving and/or struggling to transition to a healthier lifestyle, feel intimidated in the kitchen, or just need some extra motivation staying on track, I can help you discover more about your eating habits, your body, and your needs. At the most basic level of coaching, clients will have an hour long one-on-one consultation (in person, over the phone, or via Skype) and have the option to add on additional private consultations, cooking lessons, pantry consultations, market tours. We'll work together to create a customized program specifically for you and you'll soon feel energized and excited on the path to a healthier you! Click here for more details on this program.
Grocery Shopping + Pantry Stocking
Not everyone loves a trip to the grocery store, let alone having to put everything away once you've hauled it all home. I do. I love it. I can save you the headache by taking care of the shopping for you-- I shop at the best natural foods markets, wholesale retailers, and farmers' markets in the area and by working closely with you, will develop an adaptable list that suits your family's needs. Post-shopping I can also come in to put away all of the groceries in your refrigerator and pantry.
Make navigating your kitchen easier, more intuitive, and streamlined. Perfect if you're moving into a new home, updating your kitchen, or are just in need of a change!
